Water
No one ever thinks that water can do the damage it does until it happens.
Water losses can arise from simply leaving windows open to major water
damage stemming from plumbing problems.
What can you do to reduce the possibility of water damage? Read on for
simple, preventive steps you can take:
- Turn off water supply to washing machine, toilets, faucets and tubs
when you plan to be away for a few days.
- Periodically, inspect the water supply hoses to your washing machine.
Replacement of a worn or damaged hose costs only a couple of dollars
and could avert thousands of dollars in damage.
- Replace worn fittings and hose connections to appliances using water,
including sinks, ice makers, dishwashers, water softeners, etc., every
four years.
- Do not flush foreign objects down the toilet.
- Check and caulk window and door cracks periodically to prevent water
