Dwelling Fire Coverage Options

Dwelling Fire policies are intended to provide coverage for residential properties that are either occupied by a tenant or where the applicant occupies the home and desires less comprehensive coverage than that offered under a homeowner policy. A dwelling policy is a standard fire insurance policy to which additional coverages may be added.

The following dwelling policy form is available*:

DP3 Special Form: the DP3 Special Form provides coverage for all risks except what is specifically excluded for the structure. It also pays additional living expenses in instances where a loss has occurred and expenses have been incurred to maintain the insured’s household.

Liability, extended coverage, theft and replacement cost on contents coverages are available for both policy forms by endorsement. Animal Liability coverage is not available on either Dwelling Fire form.

(* Note: the dwelling must be used solely for residential purposes and may not contain more than four apartments.)
