What You Can Expect
Over 65% of newly reported Florida Family claims are settled during the
claims representative's first visit to the insured's home, which is scheduled
at the insured's convenience.
While not all claims can be resolved within that time frame, due either
to severity and/or complexity of the claim, at a bare minimum you can
expect to experience the following Florida Family claims service standards.
- You have our commitment that we will do our best to close the claim
quickly and to your satisfaction:
- During normal operations, we will make our best effort to contact
you within 24 hours. This contact will
be in the form of a telephone call or a face-to-face meeting to
discuss details of the loss. If you cannot be reached by phone,
a letter will be sent to you within 24 hours. If a catastrophic
event should occur, Florida Family has taken measures to ensure
that your claim(s) will be addressed with all possible speed.
- Your Florida Family claims representative may photograph the
damages, advise you how to protect your property from further damage,
and discuss interim accommodations, if necessary.
- Depending on the type of loss, your claims representative may
ask you or the person making claim against your policy (claimant)
or a witness to provide a statement(s) relating to your loss. These
statements may either be recorded or written.
