Florida Family maintains an extensive reinsurance program that includes participation by a number of the world's strongest reinsurers. These programs include protection from hurricane losses consistently exceeding the industry standard of a one hundred year storm. Florida Family purchases reinsurance protection from the Florida CAT Fund and a range of 'A', 'A+' and 'A++' rated commercial reinsurers.

In April 2004, A.M. Best upgraded Florida Family Insurance Company's financial stability rating from ' B+' to ' B++'  (Very Good), recognizing Florida Family's management of its exposure to potential weather-related catastrophes, local market knowledge, favorable capitalization and conservative operating strategies. Florida Family Insurance Company's 'A Prime'  rating was also reaffirmed by DEMOTECH, Inc. www.demotech.com, a rating service authorized by federal agencies to provide financial stability ratings of insurance companies.
